Design for Cultures
Design workshop in Iran
Invited by: Kish International Campus, University of Tehran
This 6-day design workshop was made for 76 design professionals from different regions in Iran, China and Germany. The design goal was to rediscovering the authentic culture of Kish Island and to come up with new products/services that make people feel welcomed on the island.
Together with other 2 design researchers from TU Delft, the Netherlands, we tailored and coached a mix of interactive lectures, short exercises and a real-case design process. We want to offer the participants a pressure cooker environment to become familiar with the design tools and techniques for cultural sensitive design.
In this workshop, I gave lectures on the Cultura toolkit and the participants were using it to map out the cultural context of Kish island.
